Meeting our Heroes: The Librarians at the Library

We had an amazing movie night on March 27th at the Library -- the first time using that venue for a screening! Many thanks to the Maplewood Memorial Library for including us in their 2026 Ideas Festival. The Victor DeLuca Community Room was packed to the gills to watch Kim A Snyder - Films incredible documentary The Librarians. Joining us for a post film discussion was librarian Martha Hickson and author Marina Budhos, moderated by the library's assistant director Amanda Eigen. The film is both eye-opening and hopeful: It's shocking to see how the war against ideas and books is being waged across this country, and our own state of New Jersey is not immune to it. But seeing these incredibly brave women fighting to keep ALL books available in their communities, and hearing first hand from Martha, one of the film's featured warriors, was truly inspiring. We are so honored to have been able to help bring this film to you!
