Backyard Movie Night: Watching Movies with Neighbors
On September 13, 2024, over 200 film lovers gathered in yards all over town to do our favorite thing: Watch a movie together. At 7:50 pm we all hit “play” on the original 1988 #Beetlejuice — which is more iconic than ever.
This was to show our town leaders and future investors that our artistic community needs a theater as part of its town’s center.
The historic Maplewood Movie Theater has been closed since the pandemic, and (as Lydia Deetz would say) it has left a hole like a dark room … “one big dark room” …. in the middle of our “main street.” Movie lovers, unite!
